About Lauren
Background

Womb to Grow is dedicated to offering personalized doula services to families in need of support during the perinatal period. I provide emotional, physical, and informational assistance, ensuring a positive experience from pregnancy to the postpartum period.

After graduating from Brandeis University with degrees in Health Policy and Psychology, I jumped straight into a sales job. Being an athlete all my life, I have a competitive side that I thought would be satisfied in a fast-paced environment. While I found many aspects of sales to be fulfilling (building relationships, helping others to make informed decisions, and educating consumers), I realized that what I wanted most was to make an impact. I made the transition to become an educator, and studied at Tulane University, to teach Secondary English in middle and high schools. This career came closer to what I wanted to do, but I realized I wanted to work more intimately with children and their families. Learning this about myself, I moved into a role as an Infant Teacher at the Early Childhood Center at the Boulder Jewish Community Center where I still work.

My Why...

Outside of work

In my "spare time" (who really has spare time with young children??), I find fulfillment in connecting with and learning about other people and what inspires them. I have two daughters who have taught me that being a mom is both the most magical and the most demanding job in the world. As my children grow and change, so do I. They constantly challenge me to be compassionate, curious,  and adventurous, and to always look for the extraordinary in everyday experiences. As a family we love to ski, cook, hike, and go crazy during our living room dance parties.

Spending time with babies has always brought me joy, and I realized that I have great interest in learning about infant and early childhood development. It is fascinating to study the shifts that happen in the early years of human life. Exponential growth and change happens in our bodies during this time period, and we have the power to make a positive impact on a person's life during infancy. In my role at the JCC, I see first hand both the beauty and the challenges of becoming a parent. Reflecting on my own journey into parenthood and witnessing this transition for other parents, highlighted the need for additional support for birthing parents and their families during the perinatal period. It is for this reason that I am a doula. You are my why. You are what inspires me and drives me to continue this journey of guiding, educating, and helping families during one of the most transformative experiences in one's life.
